CloudWays Review 2025: Pricing, Performance, Pros, & Cons

CloudWays Review

CloudWays is a managed hosting provider that prioritizes website performance and usability. CloudWays handles everything from server and application setup to ongoing server maintenance, security, and updates, allowing you to focus on growing your business.

I’ve been using CloudWays hosting for over two years now. In this article, we share CloudWays Review based on its pricing, hosting features, performance & my personal experience.

CloudWays Hosting Review

The versatility of CloudWays is its key selling point: you can select from a range of best cloud hosting providers (like AWS, DigitalOcean, and Google Cloud), host virtually any PHP-based application, free SSL, Enhance security, and utilize developer or agency-focused processes.

CloudWays

The principles of choice and freedom to focus on what is essential to the users are there from the moment the server and application are activated. When you join CloudWays, you can access a wide range of sophisticated tools and services for managing your WordPress, eCommerce businesses, and enterprise websites.

Users may tailor the CloudWays platform to their own operational needs and business operations by selecting from five IaaS providers (AWS, GCE, DigitalOcean, Vultr, and Linode) and different versions of popular apps (including four flavors of WordPress and two flavors of Magento).

The concept is continued across the platform, with users able to perform nearly 50 server and application management processes with only a few clicks.

So, whether you’re an online store, an agency, or a freelance developer with several clients, CloudWays has the right skill set to assist you in getting the most out of your managed hosting service for your company’s website’s client tasks.

CloudWays vs. Traditional Hosting Providers

What distinguishes CloudWays managed cloud hosting from regular WordPress hosting?

Unlike traditional hosting, which stores your website on a single server, cloud hosting stores your website on several global cloud servers.  Because your website is housed on many servers, it may be easily relocated in the case of a server failure. That means facing downtime with CloudWays is very rare.

Cloud hosting boosts uptime by allowing one of the network’s other servers to take over if something goes wrong. It’s often faster than traditional hosting since the server can detect your customers’ location and provide content from the nearest server. Several cloud hosts employ SSDs to boost site speed.

On average, cloud hosts are more secure than traditional hosts. CloudWays secures your WordPress site using several methods. Cloud servers can scale incredibly quickly, which is ideal if your company’s website has a sudden surge in traffic.

Pay-as-you-go pricing allows you to have more control over your hosting costs. SSD-based WordPress Hosting keeps your site running thanks to dedicated resources quickly.

Let’s check CloudWays hosting features & performance. So, you can decide for yourself whether CloudWays is worth it or not.

CloudWays Hosting Features

Below are some of the primary features you need to know that make Cloudways the best-managed cloud hosting provider.

1: Ease of Use (User Experience)

CloudWays is easy to use, particularly for non-technical consumers. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly and readily individuals could sign up for a plan or free trial when evaluating CloudWays’ offerings.

As a customer, setting up your cloud server is simple and takes less than 7 minutes to launch your website. All you have to do now is pick which Cloud server you want to use, how many resources you’ll need, and where you’ll host your server.

If you need to install an application on your web hosting account, you may do it with a few mouse clicks from your control panel. You can install WordPress, WooCommerce, Joomla, and more with a single click.

PHP may be installed in less than five minutes with a single click. Those programs and frameworks aren’t complicated for a developer to set up, but saving time is always advantageous.

CloudWays customer control panel is divided into 8 sections:

CloudWays Server overview
  1. Master Credentials: This file contains your server’s dedicated IP address and SFTP and SSH access information for all apps.
  2. Monitoring: This allows you to keep track of your server’s resources and bandwidth use.
  3. Manage Services: This section may be used to keep track of services such as Apache, MySQL, and Memcached.
  4. Parameters & Packages: This section allows you to choose your PHP version and configure PHP.
  5. SSH/SFTP and MySQL connections: Control security settings and whitelist your IP addresses and IP subnets.
  6. Vertical Scaling: This option enables you to increase or decrease the size of your server based on the resources you demand.
  7. Backups: Set backup frequencies, automate backups, and perform on-demand server backups.
  8. SMTP: Configure the SMTP service on your server to enable outgoing email transmission.

The control panel allows CloudWays users to swiftly handle the most critical components of their website/web application. If you need to do more complex activities on your server, CloudWays now provides SSH and FTP access.

CloudWays, on the other hand, does not allow access to CPanel. Because CPanel has been so widely utilized over the past two decades, with an overwhelming number of hosting firms using it to give consumers a convenient way to manage their site, application, and domain, some users may find it undesirable.

2: Free SSL Certificate

An SSL certificate adds an extra layer of security to your website or application by forcing it to use the HTTPS protocol rather than the old HTTP. Using SSL not only secures your website but also creates a genuine Google ranking factor.

CloudWays Free SSL

SSL certificates are essential for every website, and CloudWays offers a free SSL certificate with every plan. First, because SSL is now extensively utilized, omitting the use of SSL/HTTPS will make your site appear less severe and credible than rivals. Second, Google has proven that websites that employ an SSL certificate gain in terms of ranking.

3: Free Website Migration

If you want to move your website to CloudWays hosting, you can easily do it with their free site migration tool. CloudWays provides unlimited free website migration, so you won’t have to go through the time-consuming and frequently unpleasant process of migrating your site to your new server.

CloudWays will transfer your website for free regardless of the bundle you select. If you are using WordPress & WooCommerce, CloudWays partnered with BlogValut to make site migration easier, faster, and flawless.

CloudWays Site Migration
CloudWays Site Migration

With the CloudWays site migration plugin, you can move your complete website in a single time with zero downtime, and it’s an 80% faster process than regular site transfer.

I moved this website to CloudWays hosting from Kinsta using the CloudWays site migrator plugin, which takes around 6-7 minutes. From my experience, I can say CloudWays site transfer is a very smooth and super easy process (you don’t even need customer support help).

4: Managed WordPress Hosting platform

Maintained WordPress hosting is a service in which the web hosting company manages the technical aspects of WordPress to provide the customer with a trouble-free experience.

CloudWays provides completely managed WordPress hosting, which is terrific news for small and medium-sized businesses, high-traffic blogs, and e-commerce businesses. With CloudWays, you don’t have to worry about the latest WordPress version updates, application performance and security, uptime, backups, and other required services.

5: Cloudflare Enterprise CDN

A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a network of servers and storage positioned between the origin server and the user who requests online material. The goal of a CDN is to serve content more quickly by decreasing server latency.

Using a dedicated CDN speeds up your website/application and improves the user experience. CloudWays partnered with Cloudflare Enterprise CDN service for better website performance and enterprise-level security.

CloudWays Cloudflare Enterprise
Cloudflare Enterprise CDN

Integrating the Cloudflare Enterprise into your Cloudways account allows you to access 200+ unique locations for the Global CDN location with an intelligent web application firewall and many performance and security features.

Cloudflare CDN Features:

  • 100GB Enterprise-grade CDN
  • Enterprise-grade mitigation of DDoS attack
  • Secure Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  • Polish Image optimization
  • Brotli lossless compression
  • Mirage Mobile optimization
  • Wildcard encrypted SSL support
  • Latest HTTP/3 Support
  • Reserved Cloudways IPs, and many more.

Cloudflare CDN Pricing:

  • Single Domain: $4.99/Month/Domain
  • 5-10 Domains: $3.99/Month/Domain
  • 10-25 Domains: $2.99/Month/Domain
  • 25+ Domains: $1.99/Month/Domain

Update: Before Cloudflare Integration, CloudwaysCDN was powered by StackPath CDN, and it deprecated as of March 22nd, 2022, cost $1 per 25GB CDN usage.

CloudwaysCDN subscriptions will no longer be available and are expected to fall towards the end of Q2, 2022. That’s why I recommend you to use Cloudflare CDN (If you can’t afford CloudWays integrated Cloudflare enterprise CDN, use free Cloudflare CDN like me).

6: Enhanced Security

Hosting security is one thing that you need to be concerned about. Thankfully, CloudWays takes security extremely seriously, significantly benefiting users.

CloudWays offers various hosting security features like free SSL certificates, dedicated firewalls to protect your server, IP Whitelisting, regular OS patching, and much more.  Below are some exciting Cloudways hosting security features I like:

  1. Enterprise-grade Cloudflare security: Cloudways partnered with Cloudflare to integrate DDoS attack protection and an Enterprise-grade firewall to eliminate malicious traffic.
  2. Login Security: CloudWays uses rate-limiting for SSH and SFTP logins to deal with brute-force login attacks.
  3. End-to-end Encryption: Cloudways server is fully protected with end-to-end encryption with the latest HTTPS protocol that ensures that all data in transit is protected and encrypted.

CloudWays has also implemented Two Factor Authentication (TFA) as an additional layer of security to strengthen CloudWays hosting and minimize unauthorized access to the user account.

Note: I use 1Password password manager to create a random 23-character random password and two-factor authenticator.

Update: I’m using the “iThemes Security” WordPress plugin to secure & protect the WordPress site. iTheme Security uses 30 different features to prevent hacks and unwanted intruders.

7: Free Daily Backup

Backups are a vital component of website security since they ensure that no matter what occurs, you always have a fresh duplicate of your whole site (files and database) that can be restored in minutes.

CloudWays offers free managed backups, allowing you to restore your site to a former condition if something goes wrong. CloudWays’s daily backup is an automated operation, and the restoration process can be done with a single click.

CloudWays Daily Backup

You can take a manual backup with the “On-Demand Backup” option. This is the best back option for you if taking an immediate backup of the site before trying something new on your website.

CloudWays Backup and restore

Note: I prefer to use the “UpdraftPlus” WordPress plugin to take complete website backups and save backup files on remote cloud storage locations like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.

8: Free Cache Plugins Worth $95/Month

Cloudways partnered with Object Cache Pro to optimize your WordPress website performance. Object Cache Pro uses cutting-edge caching and compression technologies to solve CPU overhead and network saturation.

CloudWays Object cache pro

Thus, it helps you ease the load on your WordPress website database and server hardware to deliver queries faster. Object Cache Pro is a premium WordPress plugin worth $95/month, and CloudWays offers it free to all users with 2GB and higher servers (Not for 1 GB servers).

Note: I don’t use Object Cache Pro on my website because I use the WP Rocket cache plugin on all my websites.

9: Hosting Free Trial

The most efficient way to guarantee that a hosting service fulfills your demand is to give it a chance. CloudWays understands this and provides a free trial to allow you to examine everything before purchase.

To begin your CloudWays free trial, simply follow these steps:

CloudWays Customer Support

You need a technical support team even if you are a very technical person.

CloudWays support teams can help you with Plugin/Theme Troubleshooting, On-demand Database optimization, Server Error investigation, Proactive server Monitoring, etc. CloudWays offers Three levels of 24/7 customer Support: Standard, Advanced, and premium.

Standard Support is more than enough for most users. It’s free and includes 24/7/365 technical & billing support access to Live Chat guidance through any operation on the Cloudways hosting.

If you run an enterprise-level site or an agency, you can use CloudWays Advanced & premium support add-on. CloudWays support add-ons to speed up support response times and open up a more comprehensive range of Cloudways expertise with a dedicated Account Manager.

You also get technical expert answers, deeper server error troubleshooting, customization support, a private Slack channel, and direct phone call support.

I’ve been using CloudWays for over two years now. In my experience, I feel very comfortable with their support team. They are fast, polite, and go above and beyond to support your problem. Along with a support team, CloudWays also offers a DIY guide in their knowledge base with lots of detailed articles and YouTube videos.

CloudWays Performance and Speed Test

When I choose a hosting provider for my WordPress website, first, I check site performance.

CloudWays is a cloud-based web hosting provider with a 99.99% uptime and a first server response time of 200–350 milliseconds. Here’s my website Server response time (TTFB) in different locations:

CloudWays server response time

The main reason for this is that CloudWays collaborates with some of the industry’s best cloud providers, including Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, Vultr, Linode, and AWS.

Along with these cloud hosting providers, CloudWays also partnered with Cloudflare CDN to deliver your website content faster via a reserved-for-enterprises network available in 200+ cities globally.  CloudWays CDN reduces server latency and offers Brotli compression and polish image optimization to reduce website loading time and overall bandwidth costs.

As you already know, I’m using CloudWays hosting for this website. Here’s my website performance on GtMetrix, Tools Pingdom, & Google PageSpeed:

Performance

As you can see, Google PageSpeed Insights awarded my test site a perfect score of 100/100 on both mobile and desktop. Tools Pingdom gave it an A with a 96/100-speed score, and the GtMetrix test showed me a perfect 100% score on both performance & site structure.

Note: Along with CloudWays hosting, I use the WP Rocket cache plugin and ShortPixel image optimizer plugin to optimize my website performance.

Vertical Scaling: CloudWays’ vertical scaling enables you to scale your server to match the needs of your website or application.

CloudWays Vertical Scaling
CloudWays Vertical Scaling

Suppose your website has a spike in traffic, with CloudWays vertical scaling giving you the freedom to increase your server’s hardware resources at a glance to your server to meet the increased demand.

Conclusion: CloudWays’ excellent degree of performance and site speed is due to the collaboration of all of these components. According to user reviews, their loading rates are 50% to 70% quicker than those provided by shared web hosting like Bluehost & A2 Hosting.

CloudWays Pricing 2025

CloudWays managed WordPress hosting starts at $10 per month, using the pay-as-you-go model. It means you don’t have to pay anything upfront; first, test CloudWays hosting performance and then pay your monthly bill.

CloudWays pricing
CloudWays pricing

With a $10/Month Digital Ocean server, you get 1GB RAM, 1 Core Processor, 25GB SSD Storage, & 1TB Bandwidth. It’s enough for most people, small business owners; I’m also using this server.

CloudWay’s pricing advantage comes from the fact that it is less expensive than its rival managed WordPress hosting like Kinsta, WPX, & WP Engine.

CloudWays hosting pricing is determined by the number of server resources you use and the cloud hosting provider. CloudWays offers five different cloud hosting providers from which to choose.

  • DigitalOcean Server: $10/month to $1,035/month
  • Linode Server: $12/month to $1,205/month
  • Vultr Server: $11/month to $385/month
  • AWS Server: $34.91/month to $3,569/month
  • Google Cloud Platform: $33.30/month to $1,290/month

The pricing of CloudWays is defined by the resources you use. The company provides a choice of plans to suit various sorts of websites, from a simple WordPress blog to a huge app, which is one of the many reasons for its outstanding reputation.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud are significantly more costly than other cloud hosting providers. Vultr looks to provide the best value for money regarding pricing, resources, and performance. Because CloudWays supports vertical scalability, you may tailor your server to your unique needs.

You may begin with the most basic option (Digital Ocean cloud server, 1GB RAM, 1 Core processor) and gradually increase as your website or application becomes popular.

All memberships include 24/7 expert service, unlimited app installation, free SSL certificates, a dedicated firewall, 24/7 server monitoring, and free migration. CloudWays accepts credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) and PayPal.

Pros & Cons Of Using CloudWays

Nothing is perfect. Below are some pros & cons of using CloudWays hosting I found after using it for two years now.

Pros:

  • Object Pro cache plugin for free (worth $95/month)
  • Excellent value-for-money hosting service
  • Pay-as-you-go payment model.
  • 24/7/365 customer support
  • Industry-leading hosting security
  • Auto-healing Managed server
  • Dedicated Firewall for website protection
  • SSH & SFTP Access.
  • Completely managed hosting server.
  • Unlimited website migration with a WordPress plugin
  • Numerous positive feedbacks
  • CloudWays simplifies the Cloud hosting experience.
  • Automatic WordPress update
  • 1-Click complete Backup & Restore
  • 24/7 Real-time server monitoring

Cons:

  • No free email account with CloudWays (Use Google Workspace)
  • Some may see the lack of a CPanel to be a disadvantage.
  • There is no need to register a domain name. You must register your domain using a firm such as Namecheap or GoDaddy.

Conclusion: Is CloudWays Worth It?

CloudWays and its cloud hosting services have exceeded my expectations. The setup is straightforward and quick, even for individuals with little expertise with managed cloud hosting services.

My test site received a flawless score of 100/100 from Google PageSpeed Insights, and Pingdom gave it a score of 96/100, which is faster than 97% of websites worldwide.

Furthermore, CloudWays’ prices are relatively low compared to other managed WordPress hosting providers like FlyWheel, WPX, or Kinsta. Their managed WordPress hosting plans begin at $10 per month, including all the premium hosting features you need to manage a website which is much less than the industry average.

The most straightforward approach to determine whether CloudWays’ service will work for your site/application is to test it out for free. You may rapidly upgrade and become a customer if you sign up for a free trial and see all the fuss.
